Getting Started with NGMI 1.0

Welcome to NGMI! This guide will help you get up and running with the platform's core features.

Account Creation​

  1. Visit ngmi.social on your mobile browser
  2. Click "Sign Up" to create a new account
  3. Enter your email address
  4. Check your inbox for the verification link
  5. Click the verification link to complete registration

Initial Setup​

Choosing Your Swipe Mode​

When you first log in, you'll be prompted to select your preferred swipe direction:

  • Normie Mode: Right swipe = NGMI (untrustworthy), Left = Will Make It (trustworthy)
  • OG Mode: Right swipe = Will Make It (trustworthy), Left = NGMI (untrustworthy)

Don't worry! You can change this setting any time from the main menu.

Understanding the Interface​

Take a moment to familiarize yourself with the main interface:

  1. Top Header: Contains menu button, current section, and user info
  2. Card Stack: The main area where creator cards appear
  3. Super Vote Counter: Shows your remaining super votes for the day
  4. Swipe Actions: Visual hints showing available swipe directions

Using the Feed​

Basic Swiping​

  • Left/Right: Cast a standard vote (meaning depends on your selected mode)
  • Up: Cast a Super Vote (5x impact, limited daily allowance)
  • Down: Add creator to your research list

Viewing Creator Details​

  1. Tap on a creator card to view their detailed profile
  2. Explore connected social accounts, score breakdown, and community notes
  3. Return to the feed with the back button

Using Filters​

  1. Access the menu by tapping the icon in the top-left corner
  2. Select "Filters" to open the filter panel
  3. Choose categories, platforms, or sort options
  4. Apply filters to customize your feed

Research List​

Accessing Your Research List​

  1. Open the main menu
  2. Select "Research List" to view saved creators

Adding Research Notes​

  1. Tap on a saved creator in your research list
  2. Select "Add Note" to open the note editor
  3. Enter your observations and tap "Save"
  4. Notes are private and only visible to you

Contribution Impact​

Your contributions affect the platform in several ways:

  • Each vote influences a creator's NGMI score
  • Super votes have 5x the impact of standard votes
  • Your vote weight increases as you establish a history of consistent voting
  • Active participation unlocks additional features and capabilities

Managing Your Account​

Profile Settings​

  1. Open the main menu
  2. Select "Profile" to view your account information
  3. Tap "Edit" to update your display name or preferences

Changing Swipe Mode​

  1. Open the main menu
  2. Select "Settings"
  3. Find "Swipe Direction" and change to your preferred mode

Logging Out​

  1. Open the main menu
  2. Scroll down and select "Log Out"
